Glasses for an oval face

An oval face is a little longer than it is wide, with a jaw slightly narrower than the forehead and soft curves. Opticians call it the easy shape: it needs no correcting, so almost any frame works.

What still matters is width and weight. The frame should be about as wide as the widest part of your face, with its top following your brows; a frame that is too narrow makes an oval face look longer, a heavy one can overpower delicate features. Not sure your face is oval? Take a selfie in the try-on below: the face analysis tells you its shape.

Look straight into the camera with your whole face in the frame and your hair as you usually wear it. Take off any glasses you have on. Even lighting works best.

FAQ

What glasses suit an oval face best?

Almost any shape: rectangular, geometric, round, aviator or oversized frames. Pick by width, as wide as your face at the temples, and by your features: thin metal for delicate ones, acetate for strong ones.

Which glasses should an oval face avoid?

Only frames out of scale: very narrow ones that make the face look longer, or very wide ones whose temples bow outward.

Can a selfie tell me which frames suit my face?

Yes. Take a selfie in the try-on on this page and tap "Which frames fit me best?". The AI face analysis tells you your face shape at no cost. It also picks the one frame from the gallery it would choose for you; seeing yourself in that frame is a try-on for one credit, once you have bought credits.
